Tuleeni values every donation we receive. We strive to implement our funds as efficiently as possible and with the utmost financial discipline. The majority of the money we receive is used to help needy children in Tanzania. Less than 10% is spent on administration and fundraising, which includes processing donations, applying for grants, and staying in contact with our donors. Tuleeni is a nationally registered Tanzanian Non-Governmental Organization. Under its constitution, Tuleeni is a non-profit organization. We regularly submit reports to the Tanzanian Social Welfare Department which monitors organizations working with vulnerable children.
Most of our funds goes towards education, as we believe in education we spend more than $26,000 a year to send children to school! Despite having small projects to help running the orphanage still we rely heavily on international donors and well-wishers. Currently, we have over 100 children, 54 children lives at the orphanage. Many children only live at the orphanage seasonally, as they are in private boarding schools or away at college and University. In addition to all of the kids that live at the orphanage, other children live somewhere else, similar to a foster placement, with extended families or relatives that we support financially!
